Course
Scope:
Theatre III is designed to
further build upon skills acquired in the curriculums of Theatre II and
I. This course will review the fundamentals and apply those
skills to a more advanced course of study. The following are some of
the units of study this course will cover:
- Fundamentals Review
- Acting in Period Styles
- Voice and Diction
- Arthur Lessac - Use and Training of the Voice
- Techniques: Stanislavski, Meisner, Brecht, Adler, Suzuki
- Understanding the Classics
- Script Analysis
- Character Analysis
- Imagery in Acting
- Unified Audition

Theatre IV
Course
Scope:
Theatre IV is meant to build upon the basic theatrical skills and
knowledge that you acquired during your three years of Theatre
study. In this class we expect that you are proficient in the
basics and can apply them in a variety of ways to your advanced
scene work and the productions here at LVA. This does not mean
that we can’t review the basics, but we want to focus on building
upon the fundamental skills and knowledge that you have acquired so
far through a variety of special problems and advanced
units. This class will be taught by Mr. Edwards and Mr.
Connor and guest artists including but not limited to Mr. Born
and Ms. Gallo. Some of the topics that this class will
explore are:
- Acting as Playing
- Exploring the Inner Child
- Script Analysis
- Unified Auditions
- Directing Acting Styles
- The Six Elements of Drama
