| "I
am very excited to be a faculty member of what I think to be an amazing
program. I joined the faculty of LVA and the Academy
Theatre department in 2004. Originally from Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, I was a product of a performing arts magnet school like
LVA. I have been actively involved in theatre for over 30
years. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree In Communications from [
http://www.morehouse.edu/ ]Morehouse College and a MFA in Drama from
the University of Georgia.
I have worked as an actor, writer, lyricist, stage director, teacher,
film director, editor, and graphic designer. I come to LVA from
Atlanta where I served as director of the drama department for Tri-Cities
Performing Arts High School. While at Tri-Cities our students
won back to back Georgia High School Association State One Act Play
Competition titles and I have had the good fortune to work with
numerous students who have gone on to study at the top theatre programs
in the nation and work professionally in film, on Broadway and regional
theatre. My life inspirations are my lovely wife Andrea and my daughter
Ryan Alise. My teachings are based upon some basic principles:
I have high student expectations for academics and performance. My goal is to develop the well-rounded performer who is committed to developing themselves academically, professionally and personally. I can be contacted at rjconnor@interact.ccsd.net. The best time to reach me in my office (702-799-7800 x4050) is between 7 am and 8:15 am, or between 2 and 3 pm. Feel free to call if you would like to visit with me. I am excited about what the future holds." |
