"I have over
thirty years of classroom experience within multiple
educational settings, including serving with the
Peace Corps in a rural
school in Jamaica W.I; The
United Nations International School in New York City
(which has a
multi-cultural population from 118 different countries); private high
schools in Brooklyn,
New York; a
public 4-12 grade Performing Arts School in urban Cincinnati (SCPA);
and magnet middle
and high schools in Miami, Florida.
"I have a
Masters of Arts in Theatre
Education from New York University, and I attended Emerson College
in
Boston as a Graduate Assistant in the Theatre Education
Department. I
have worked at the Tony Award
winning Playhouse-in-the-Park and at the
historic Coconut Grove Playhouse, as well as off Broadway
at the 13th
Street Playhouse in NYC.
"I have
numerous students employed
professionally on and off Broadway and in film and television,
including Nick Lachey (of The Newly Weds
with Jessica Simpson) and Drew
Lachey
(winner of Dancing with the Stars first season and 98 Degrees.)
"My
personal philosophy is that, 'Art is no more an ornament in our
lives than is Education.
Both
need to be woven into the total experience of a full and sensitive
life. It
is through the Arts
that we acknowledge our kinship with the world-wide
human condition to build upon our understanding
of diversity and its
multicultural dimensions.' I can't wait to meet all of you and
share in your talents."
