Las Vegas Academy Theater for the Performing Arts

The Clark County School District and the Las Vegas Academy are proud to soon unveil our new Theater for the Performing Arts, which will open with the new 2005-2006 school year.  This facility will house many of the school's performances, including band, orchestra, choir, dance, jazz band and theatre, as well as fine art from the art students.

A majestic three-story lobby and beautiful art gallery surround a stunning stage house with full concert shell and cutting-edge technology, including full scenery and costume shops.   The facility has 750 seats, balcony and partiere seating, and a benchmark-setting electroacoustic enhanced sound system.   These wonderful features are enveloped in a sound-tight building specifically engineered to be very quiet.

This $15 million facility is one of the most contemporary and well-developed theaters in the area, including those built for casinos.  The building was designed by the award-winning local architectural firm Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects, with theatrical consulting by Auerbach Pollock Friedlander and acoustical consultants ArupAcoustics

Beginning with the 05-06 school year the Theatre Technologies program will take up residence in the backstage areas of the new theater.

The stage house features a full counterweight fly system and enclosed orchestra shell.
